“The call of the river is strong indeed, I cannot resist it. High hang the banks and swift flow the runs, the sound of the water like bells. Look for me close by a river. You will find Me on the banks of a river. I am happy by the side of a river, for there lies my hearts delight.”— David Scholes

Why the Mayfly?
The Mayfly is an ancient and majestic mini-beast as Greg French would put it. No other bug excites the fish and the fisherman alike, a hatch of Mayflies can raise heart rates above and below the water and its prehistoric determination to live out a lifetime in a day is truly remarkable. So really, what’s not to like?
Why are you called Camden?
There’s a plateau that sits under Mount Barrow in the North East of Tasmania known as The Camden. Here you’ll find a tiny mountain stream called the Camden Rivulet, not far from the headwaters of the fine St Patricks River itself.
The land is unusual, a weathered beauty of contradictions, dry and wet, green and brown. The water whispers quietly to you as it licks past the mossy boulders and under Myrtle trees. This… is our place! It’s where we found fly-fishing, our friendship and ourselves.
The Camden is home to some of the most pristine water in the world, to sparkling mountain trout, to serenity and most of all to really, really good fly-fishing. camdenfishing.com is where we celebrate this.
Are you a Tasmanian business?
Absolutely, we are a 100% Tasmanian owned business and proud of it. Everything in our range is original and nearly all handcrafted here in Tasmania.
We only use the highest quality materials, and the best craftsmen Tasmania has to offer and for the very few things we can’t do ourselves we seek help off the island.
