Dear Douglas,

Greetings from the Western Lakes! The sky is blue, the wind settled and the scenery is staggeringly beautiful. Nothing but Wallabies, an occasional Echidna and a Tiger Snake or two to keep me company.

I rose early this morning, as did the trout, there was an eruption of tails sucking down spent spinners right across the lake. I’ve never encountered so many hungry fish as long as your leg!
